Take A Stitch Tuesday

This is my sample for Take a Stitch Tuesday this week. I enjoyed working with this stitch much more than I thought I would. First I played around with it on a piece of paper. Just to try and figure out what I could do with it designwise. I finally decided on a pattern and picked out threads in different blue hues. I think using a monochromatic colourscheme is a simple way to make a design work.

In order to get an even pattern, without having to count threads, I drew a grid on the back. When I had finished stitching I tied up the lose ends with tiny knots.

I think the knots make the back look really interesting. Next time I’ll use it on the front!

it's i within the japanese restrained beauty aesthetics concept
don't you love the way the back sides sometimes come out?

Love this sample. The grid on the back is a neat trick to keep it organised, thanks for sharing :)
