TIF update

So where were I? Right...

So what kind of behavior is it that I respect and approve of? What kind of qualities do I admire in others?

I made a list of qualities I appreciate in others. (Thinking I should probably work on improving my own qualities a bit...) I ended up with a list with words like integrity, love, compassion, honesty, humility, kindness, joy. How would I express these things visually?

As I was looking into the meaning of the word integrity I stumbled on the frase "core set of values" that got stuck in my head. What does it mean to have an inner core? What would an inner core look like? I started associating core with seed, went on to pod, and from there to bundle and shrine. Why not make bundles to celebrate the good in people? Bundles representing some of the qualities I admire and appreciate in others.

Next question! What are these bundles going to look like? I browsed through my sketchbooks and found something I tossed down when I visited the Museum of Etnography a few weeks before Christmas. There was an exhibition showing Aboriginal Art from Australia. On one of the paintings had these objects or symbols that cought my eye. Maybe some of my friends in Oz knows what it is? Of course I don't remember the name of the artist so if anyone can help me with that I would be very greatful as well.

Here´s another sketch/doodle I made at work one day. Now I'm very eager to get to work in fiber and stitches. :-)
Take it Further!

I admire the way you are developping this concept!

Interesting--much less literal than many people's ideas, including mine :)

I love this idea Annica! Interesting train of thought - I like the core values and then to make a bundle to represent this is wonderful. I can't wait to see the finished product.

Hi!
Your thoughts about admiration and the work you are thinking about are incredible. I've so enjoyed reading your recent posts. The New Year's Resolutions you've made will keep me (and lots of others, no doubt) coming back time and time again. Though I haven't joined the new design challenge offered by Sharon B, I will look forward to reading the posts that lead to shared images. The shield you created is quite powerful. It seems to possess a rainbow of imaginative color, a straight forward sense of power, and an eye of determination. I very much like the outer ring with its strength and ingenious hand stitches. Also, thank you for your "Make My Day" award...so often (too often to count), you've made mine too!
