Take A Stitch Tuesday

The TAST stitch this week was Barred Chain stitch. I can't say it was love at first sight but this stitch grew on me.

I started off by trying a few different things, just to get a feel for it. The second one I worked in rows. I like the ragged look on this one.

I thought the flowerish thing on the top right corner of the first sample looked interesting. So I went on working on that for sample no three. It reminds me a bit of Aquilegias.
Finally I wanted to see what happened if I filled a surface with detached Barred Chain stitch, but that didn't work out at all.

You really took this stitch to bits Annica. Nice set of samples. I have to say I found it hard to get started with this stitch.
