Love, Kindness and Joy

Three of the qualities I admire in others. Love, Kindness and Joy.

I started working on my bundles. Running stitch and french knots, two of my favourite stitches. The background cloth is silk (Love, love, love it!) and the coloured pieces are tulle, organza and handpainted scrim. The thread I used is a black cotton thread. Each bundle is 20 cm or 8 inches and the finished size of the whole piece is going to be about 30x40 cm or 12x16 inches.

Take it further!

Great beginnings. When I looked at the drawings, I thought of torches but now they are coming into fruition I am thinking of strong towering turrets of a castle

These are turning out really well. Colour combination is spot on. Verobirdies comment made me smile - very apt.

love what you've done here. the combination of the different fabric textures is very smart and the stitching on them adds another dimension
